the ABCs of georgiemane

trying to decipher ingredients on the back of your beauty products can often feel like you need a degree in chemistry. but, we’ve saved you a trip to the lab with a breakdown of all the things that make up georgiemane - abc style.

A is for aloe vera (aka aloe barbadensis leaf juice)

while you might associate aloe vera with third degree burns after too many hours at the beach on a sunny summer's afternoon, this desert plant is more than just an anti-inflammatory moisturiser for your skin. working to get rid of dandruff and any excessive build up on your scalp. aloe vera also works wonders for your hair’s growth.

B is for butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter

most commonly found in skin care products, shea butter is also a star when it comes to hair care.

this rich, creamy fatty acid from the nut of the african butyrospermum parkii tree is full of important vitamins that work to deeply nourish and moisturize your hair. best part about this ingredient is it helps to prevent damage and breakage caused by everyday life (sun and heat from styling tools).

C is for coconut oil

our coconuts bring all the hair growth to the yard. no but seriously, coconut isn’t just for lathering up your body like an oily chip to get a crisp tan, it’s actually super beneficial for your hair too. not only does it reduce protein loss, it also works to hydrate and encourage longer and thicker hair growth.

D is for don’t tell, but we’re skipping the d

E is for erythritol

a moisturising ingredient derived from corn, that supports the conditioning function as well as the smoothing of hair follicles, erythritol is a type of carbohydrate that can also be used as a sugar substitute.

F is for fragrance

opened our mask and found your eyes rolling into the back of your head as you take a sniff of that ah-mazing smell? no? oh come on I know I’m not the only one. if you haven’t been able to put your finger on it, that oh-so-yummy smell is a combination of coconut and sea spray.

G is for grape seed oil

if your hair is prone to being dry and brittle, then grape seed oil is your saving grace. this fatty acid penetrates into your hair’s cuticles, locking in moisture. on top of that it is also a god when it comes to preventing frizz, split ends, and brittle hair.

H is for hydroxyacetophenone

how good is it when you post a killer pic on IG and the girls hype you up with comments that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside? well hydroxyacetophenone does exactly this, boosting and hyping up the other ingredients in the mask so they perform at their best.

I is for isopropyl myristate

this ingredient is known for deeply nourishing hair while increasing your hair’s appearance by giving it a gorgeous gloss.

J is for jar

all of these ingredients are mixed together and packaged in a wholesome 220ml jar, which will give you about 10-13 applications. plus it’s the perfect size to take on your travels because you shouldn’t treat yo’ hair just at home!

K is for keep reading your ingredient knowledge

L is for liquid gold aka argan oil

our mad hair scientist ensured that the holy grail of beauty products made an appearance in our 10 minute hair mask. known for its fatty acids and powerful antioxidants, argan oil also acts as a UV protector, prevents styling damage, provides moisture and improves overall scalp health. talk about an overachiever…

M is for made in Australia

aussie, aussie, aussie, oi oi oi! our mask is made right here in Australia and delivered to all of our georgie angels via kangaroo post (jks, it’s actually via koala mail), but if you’re not from down under don’t worry we ship worldwide!

N is for no nasties

as you make your way through our ingredients you’ll begin to notice we’re not hiding any nasties. our 10 minute hair mask is free from the big no no’s including sulfates, parabens, and silicones.

O is for oleyl alcohol

this fatty alcohol, found in veggtables, acts as a lubricant and conditioner for your hair. but don’t get confused, oleyl alcohol isn’t like ethanol or ethyl alcohol, which are known to dry out the hair.

P is for persea gratissima (avocado) oil

not just great on toast, avocados are rich in fatty acids which help to strengthen and nourish hair. they also boost you hair’s moisture, giving you that oh-so sexy shine.

Q is for quick

just 10 minutes once a week (or more!) is all you need to restore and repair your hair! best part is it doesn’t stop you from getting on with life. simply wash your hair as normal with shampoo, work the mask in and then you’ve got ten minutes to catch up on the girls chat, call your mum or watch bachelor recaps!

R is for ricinus communis (castor) seed oil

rich in ricinoleic acid, castor seed oil was made to enhance hair growth and length. according to very well health the oil which is extracted from a plant known as the Ricinus communis, is also said to help moisturize the scalp, ease dandruff and leave your hair smooth and shiny.

S is for stearamidopropyl dimethylamine

say goodbye to frizzy, fly-away, tangled hair thanks to stearamidopropyl dimethylamine (try saying that 5 times in a row).

T is for this is actually harder than I thought so we’re cheating and using T to talk about olive fruit oil

there's a reason why cutting down olive trees in ancient Greece was a crime. they may be small and leave a sour taste in your mouth but they sure pack a lot of benefits. when talking hair, olive fruit oil helps to lock in the hair’s moisture, promoting longer and thicker hair.

U is for underrated ingredients like crambe abyssinica seed oil

a natural and safe replacement for nasties such as silicone, crambe abyssinica seed oil coats your hair and seals in moisture to keep it hydrated and protected from heat. extracted from the seeds of a native Ethiopian Highlands plant, due to the oil’s lightweight nature, it’s also responsible for giving your hair that silky, glossy shine without turning it into a grease ball.

V is for vegan and cruelty free

we love our furry friends so we’ve made sure there are no animal products in our hair mask. nor do we do any testing on animals.

W is for water

water in the mask is used as a carrier for the other active ingredients to be dissolved or suspended in. without this, the ingredients would not be able to be applied to your hair.

X is for is there really any words that actually start with x?

Y is for you

yep, you’re an important ingredient in all of this. by taking the leap and buying your first tub of georgiemane your hair will start to become healthier, stronger and resilient against the heat that everyday life throws at it.

Z is for zammmmmm!

zammmm boo, just like the avengers all of our ingredients are pretty powerful on their own, but when you combine them together, a lot of badass world saving occurs*. don’t believe us? see for yourself… shop our 10 minute mask below.

*okay you might not be able to save the world after using georgiamane, but it’ll give you insanely soft and oh so luscious hair and that’s basically the same thing right?
